Angiogenesis Assay Kit

Angiogenesis, the growth of new blood vessels from pre-existing vasculature, is a normal process in growth and development, as well as in wound healing and tissue granulation. However, it is also involved in a number of pathological processes including formation of malignant tumors and metastasis, rheumatoid arthritis, and macular degeneration. The principal cells involved are endothelial cells, which proliferate to provide the necessary number of cells needed for making new blood vessels. A fast and simple assessment of angiogenesis is the measurement of the ability of endothelial cells to form three-dimensional structures (tube formation).

PromoKine’s Angiogenesis Assay Kit provides a robust method to determine angiogenesis in vitro in less than 18 hours. This tube formation assay provides a simple, easy to perform, semi-quantitative tool for assessing angiogenesis. After staining the tube with the provided fluorescence dye the extent of tube formation, such as average tube length and branch point, can be quantified using imaging software. Each kit provides sufficient quantities to perform up to 50 assays in 96-well plates.

The ECM Solution included in the kit is growth factor-reduced and endotoxin-free.
